VIBE PASS (2025)

Together with my fiancée, I participated in our very first game jam: the Game Maker's Tool Kit (GMTK) Game Jam 2025!
Four days to create our first game together, fitting this year's game jam theme of 'Loop'. After some exciting brainstorm sessions we settled on floating on the idea of a lazy river pool, collecting pick-ups to keep your vibe in check. And so, "Vibe Pass " was born.
My work on "Vibe Pass" included:
- Creating a Blueprint spline based lazy-river pool geometry
- Game framework and flow (restart, loading screen, flows)
- Automatic player movement along the spline
- Player and camera controls
- Creation of pick-up- and obstacle spawn slots + pick ups
- Randomization / spawn chance functionality for pick-ups and obstacles
- User Interface creation and scripting
- Asset integration and material creation
- Full prop- and set dressing
- Full lighting pass using Lumen
- Optimizations

Game Description
Welcome to the chillest meltdown of your life. You’ve got a Vibe Pass and zero plans; just floatin’ in circles, dodging strangers, chasing drinks, and trying not to overheat or party too hard.
Stay outta the sun (unless you like frying). Grab a sunlotion to pause the burn and enjoy the open bar. But be careful, mocktails can vibe you out of existence. Don’t bump into other floaters or we will ask you to come back the next day. Maximize the vibes… but don’t max out!
