Immerse yourself in Shaman: Spirithunter, a story driven action-adventure, where you scout and hunt depraved animal spirits to grow and unlock shaman powers. Once strong enough, you can finally face the elusive Great White Stag to bring about an end to the eternal winter ravaging his land. The very survival of your people depends on your skill as a hunter and spiritual shaman.
Sadly, the game was cancelled and the studio closed shortly after, in 2018.

As the Lead Level Designer on Shaman: Spirit Hunter, I was heavily involved in many areas of development, with the main focus on level design and supporting the rest of the team.

My work on Shaman: Spirit Hunter included:

  • Managing a small team of level designers
  • Planning and documentation on level design standards and vision
  • Researching the area, theme and storytelling- and gameplay opportunities
  • Blocking out areas using Unreal Engine 4's BSP tools
  • Implementing in-game level events and gameplay
  • Initial art pass & tweaks
  • AI placement & tweaks

Shaman: Spirit hunter

This was my first title as a Lead Level Designer. During development I managed and supported a small team of Level Designers, while remaining hands-on in-engine. I was mainly involved with the layout and geometry work, and adding preliminary art to convey intentions and mood of the areas.

Later I moved onto implementing level events to tell the story and introduce new gameplay mechanics.

The game was sadly cancelled in 2018.
